Students taking this course should be familiar with personal computers and the use of a keyboard and a mouse. To ensure your success in this course, you should have basic project management knowledge and skills. Students should be comfortable in the Windows® 8 environment, and be able to use Windows 8 to manage information on their computers. Specific tasks the students should be able to perform include: launching and closing applications, navigating basic file structures, and managing files and folders. To meet this prerequisite, you can take any one or more of the following Logical Operations courses:
- Using Microsoft® Windows® 8
- Microsoft® Windows® 8: Transition from Windows® 7
- Windows XP: Basic or Windows Vista: Basic
In order for a class to be successful, all students must have the same general level of knowledge. You are responsible for reading the prerequisites for this class very carefully. If the CITI instructor finds that a student is not ready for the class, the instructor will take the necessary steps to place that student in a more appropriate course. This policy is intended to maintain the high level of quality control that you have come to expect from CITI.
