Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI®) Certification Preparation Course Part 1 Online Live

UConn CITI is now offering its traditional in-person Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI®) Exam Preparation course in an online format! 

You will be working live (remotely) with one of our instructors as well as interacting with your classmates in real time, from the comfort of your home or office.

CITI's PMP-PMI program is offered in 2 3-day sessions, Part 1 and Part 2, due to the extensive body of knowledge. Thiis course is based on the PMBOK 6th Edition.

Due to the postponement of the newest version of the PMP exam to Jan. 2, 2021, this course is being taught using the current body of knowledge. You will have until Dec. 31, 2020 to complete the exam.

The Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam Preparation course includes the foundations of PMI's PMBOK 6th Edition courseware. Part 1 is an intensive 3-day section which provides detailed knowledge of the PMBOK framework, the first 4 knowledge areas, and the Agile equivalent.

Special Note: By taking CITI's PMP Exam Preparation Parts 1 & 2 classes, you will meet the 35 hours (PDUs) of classroom time needed for sit for the exam. Also note that coursework can be taken ANYTIME, and not just prior to taking the exam. The PDUs do not expire, meaning you can take this course and use the principles taught while continuing your journey as a project manager.

Intended Audience:
For individuals who need the educational credentials to take the PMP Certification exam, those who wish to become project managers, or those that desire to build /reinforce a foundation in project management skills and techniques.

Additional Information: 
In order to sit for the exam you will need to document your professional experience in project management. To sit for the PMP-PMI exam you will need:

  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
  • 60 months of project management experience 
  • 35 hours of project management education OR CAPM certification


  • Four-year degree
  • 36 months of project management experience within the last 8 years
  • 35 hours of project management education OR CAPM certification

Duration: Part 1: 3-Day(s)  9:00 am to 5:00 pm. 
Each participant will receive the PMBOK® 6th edition course manual, as well as supplemental course material.
